Further guidance for special events over the holiday season

On November 17, the Provost’s Office released its guidance for special events over the holiday season. Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to evolve, most recently with the emergence of the Omicron variant.

In light of this changing situation, public health guidance was released on Friday by the Province encouraging Ontarians to limit the size and number of social gatherings over the holiday season.

The President and Vice-Presidents have decided to cancel their in-person holiday events. We would encourage all units around the University to reconsider the need for holiday gatherings and, where they decided to continue, to take steps to ensure the safety of these events.
