Children’s real-world experiences, like when they are learning in a classroom or playing on the playground, involves the integration of diverse cognitive abilities including sensory, attentional, memory, emotional, and social processing. My research is focused on understanding how children and adolescents make sense of the world and how the developing brain supports this processing in neurotypical and neurodivergent development. I use fMRI, cognitive testing, and naturalistic paradigms to investigate individual differences in sensory, cognitive, and social processing and to explore how these differences relate to brain development and real-world functioning.
