Move-In day is a very exciting moment whether this is the first time you are leaving home or you have been a graduate student.  We know you are already in planning mode.  This information is provided to answer some of your move-in questions.  A more detailed move-in page and information will be available two weeks prior all to the move-in day for the Fall Term.

Residence Move-in

Move-in Weekend is scheduled for August 31 to September 1, 2024*.

* Assigned move in dates/times will depend on your residence room assignment. Move in dates and times will be made available by mid-August so you have time to prepare.

Early arrivals are not available.

Students will receive an assigned date and time for arrival during the move-in weekend (August 31 – September 2). Move-in details will be sent to your Brock email account prior to check-in so you have time to review the process and plan your arrival.

If you will arrive on a later date/time, please let us know in advance by emailing housing@brocku.ca.

You will receive your room assignment and move-in details via your Brock Office 365 Outlook student email account.  Make sure you set up your Brock email so you will know when this information comes in or if we have any questions about your application.

Residence room assignments will be sent out by the end of July. Move-in details are provided 2 weeks before move-in weekend.

Fall Term classes begin Wednesday, September 4, 2024 and Winter Term classes begin Monday, January 6, 2025.  Click here for more important dates.

Residence Buildings

We stress that bricks and mortar don’t make your stay in residence a memorable one. It’s the people with whom you will be living.  Visit the residence buildings and amenity page for descriptions, picture galleries and 360 degree tours of each residence.

Yes, campus tours does provide residence tours.  Visit their website for available tours.

All Brock University Residence rooms are already fully furnished with a twin bed, a dresser, a desk and chair, closet or wardrobe, shelving, and garbage bins. Townhouse Style residences also have furnished living rooms and kitchenettes/kitchens equipped with a sofa, a chair, tables, and eating area. If you’re thinking about bringing extra furnishings and/or appliances you MUST read our Allowable Appliances and Allowable Furnishings documents. Due to your room and unit being fully furnished there is limited space for extra furnishings and appliances, and anything that is brought in must be made of metal or plastic. Why? To help reduce fire safety hazards and potential pest problems. Everyone wants to be on the safe side!

You will need to bring your own linens for a single/twin-sized bed. Alternatively, Housing Services has partnered with Residence Linens to facilitate delivery of a linen package for your arrival.  You will need to wait until you get your room assignment before ordering linens but that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning your decorating scheme!
When ordering, ensure you select Brock University as your school and give your correct building and room number.

Many students choose to pre-order a rental refrigerator (and freezer for townhouses) so that they meet the residence guidelines for furnishings.  This is not mandatory but to avoid disappointment, make sure you review the allowable appliances guide.  Housing Services has partnered with Coldex Rentals to help make your transition to living in residence more smoothly.
