Review timelines

Both REB panels normally meet a minimum of 9 times a year. For an application to be scheduled for full board review, it must be received by the Office of Research Ethics at least 10 working days prior to a scheduled meeting. Turn-around time for full board reviews depend on the complexity of the study.

Delegated reviews are conducted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Turn-around time (from submission to first decision) for minimal risk projects is approximately 15-20 working days.
