The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) oversees the licensing of nurses in Ontario. Other provinces, states, countries will have their own overseeing bodies.

Registration with the CNO
In the final term of the nursing program, student information will be sent to the CNO, by the nursing program, for students who are expected to complete their program that term.
Once grades are final for the last term of the program, student information will be sent to the CNO confirming which students have successfully completed their degree program and are therefore eligible to write the examinations to become a registered nurse in Ontario. After processing by the CNO, students will be able to register to take their NCLEX‑RN examination.
