Winter Permits Now Available for Purchase
Posted January 6th. Winter term parking permits are now available for purchase at Parking Services. Those who pre-ordered parking permits and have them "on hold" for pick up can now do so at the Parking Services office located at Theal House. If your parking permit was being mailed to you and you have not yet received it, please contact us at ext. 4309.
Flex Dollars Accepted at Parking Services
Posted January 6th. Effective January 9th, 2012 residence students will be able to pay for overnight guest parking passes using Flex Dollars, in addition to all other forms of payment. Residence students can continue to buy one night passes from either the North or South Service Desk but if longer term parking is required, please visit Parking Services located at Theal House during regular business hours, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Opeing of Term Event Celebrates Niagara's Harvest
Posted August 16th. Local food and beverages will take centre stage at the upcoming Tastes of Niagara event, celebrating the dawn of a new school year.
The Opening of Term event will take place on Wednesday, August 31st from 4 - 6 pm in the Guernsey Market. Niagara farmers will be on hand to talk about their harvest and involvement in the Brock community, along with the Brock Dining Services' chefs who blend it all together. In addition, sample wines and beers crafted from the Niagara region. This year's Opening of Term event will showcase the wonderful bounty Niagara truly has to offer!

Edutravel Announces Three New Trips for 2012!
Posted July 25th. Three new trip destinations are being offered in 2012 through the Edutravel program to alumni and friends of Brock. Destinations include a cruise from Athens to Rome, a trip to discover the treasures of East Africa, and the ever-popular Tuscany-Cortona combination.

Summer is Back . . . With the Weekly Outdoor Farmers' Market
Posted June 15th. The Brock Farmers' Market returns to Jubilee Court this Friday, June 17th full of local vendors and live music. The market will enter its summer mode this Friday with more than a dozen vendors selling local produce and crafts. A BBQ featuring meats and other items from local farmers will once again add to the tantalizing smells and tastes of the outdoor market and new this year, there will be local beer and wine available for purchase.
Be sure to check out the Brock Farmers' Market in Jubilee Court every Friday, starting this Friday, June 17 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm until the end of September.
Changes to Employee Fall/Winter Parking Permit Sales
Posted June 15th. Employee parking permit sales for the 2011 Fall/Winter term will begin this Friday, June 17th. All employees are now encouraged to complete their permit purchases online at www.brocku.ca/parking - select "online services." In order to provide faster and more accurate service to all employees and Brock partners, we are providing online permit purchases only and now restricting manually completed forms. These will only be accepted on a special case-by-case basis.
For those without access to a computer and/or a Brock portal login, we ask that you either visit Parking Services during business hours (8:30 am - 4:30 pm, M - F) or contact us by phone at ext. 4309. We will then enter your permit purchase information into the system for you. Please note, all others will be asked to visit our website to register/purchase their permit online.
In order to make your permit purchase as quickly and easy as possible, we suggest you have the following information readily available when you go online:
- Brock Employee Number
- Vehicle Information - make, model, license plate of the car(s) you wish to register to your account
Should you encounter any difficulties in registering for a permit online, or require assistance in purchasing, please call Parking Services at ext. 4309.
Spring/Summer Parking Permits
Posted June 15th. Please visit the Parking Services office in Theal House (South side of campus) to purchase your spring/summer permit. Permits are available for purchase in person only, and not available online. Parking Services is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Parking Services at Smart Start
Posted June 15th. Representatives will be attending each day of Smart Start, starting June 27th through to August 12th. We look forward to welcoming students and parents as we share important information about parking on campus and purchasing parking passes.

Farmers Market Now Accepting Brock Card for Payment of Purchases
Posted January 18th. The Farmers Market, occuring each Friday in Market Hall, is now accepting payment via your Brock Card. Add flex dollars to your Brock student or staff card, and experience the convenience of purchasing fresh, local produce at the weekly Farmers Market via your Brock card. Don't forget, your Brock card can also be used at all Sodexo on campus locations, along with designated external vendors throughout Niagara. Add flex dollars to your Brock card now to experience fast and convenient service throughout campus.
Become a Community Partner with Brock Card and Increase Your Sales!
Posted January 18th. Brock students use their Brock Card (their official university ID) as a debit card to make purchases around campus and at our community partners popular with students. These include local eateries, grocery stores, convenience stores and more. The relationship benefits you, the community partner, by increasing your sales potential and benefits the students by providing more variety in locations where they can make secure purchases using their Brock Card.

Gift Cards Available
Posted January 18th. Gift cards are available to purchase in values of $25, $50, $100 and $150 - what better way to give a gift of convenience. Call the Brock Card office at ext. 4770 - we will produce a Flex Dollar Gift Card that can be used at all of our on and off campus vendors. We can also add flex dollars to any student or staff card. Visitor & Information Services December Updates - This Time of Year Brings Lots of Activity at the Schmon Tower Welcome Desk.
Posted December 1st. Annual Giving Tree: December 1st - 22nd. Donations of mittens, gloves, scarves, hats and toys for those less fortunate are welcome starting now until December 22nd. Donated items can be dropped off at the Welcome Desk in Schmon Tower and will be given to those in need at Community Care.
Winter Clothing Drive: November 22nd - December 15th. Also for Community Care and initiated by a Brock Sociology student, warm winter clothing such as jeans, sweaters and coats can also be dropped off at the Welcome Desk.
Prevention of Violence Against Women: November 29th - December 5th. Support the prevention of violence against women by donning a ribbon (white for men, purple for women). Ribbons are available at the Welcome Desk Nov. 29 through to Dec. 5.
As always, the Welcome Desk staff are here to help with any request for information from all community members.

New Meeting Space on Campus Available
Posted November 5th. Effective Monday, November 8th, 2010 the Theal House meeting room will be available for booking during University business hours; Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This small meeting room is ideal for groups of 12 people or less and comes equipped with an LCD projector, in-room screen and moveable tables and chairs. Those hosting off campus visitors can either direct meeting guests to D Lot, Visitor Parking or call Parking Services at ext. 4309 for alternative options. What's New at the Welcome Centre?

The Welcome Centre, conveniently located in the lobby of the Schmon Tower, provides information and way finding services to all Brock students, faculty, staff and the many community members and visitors that come to Brock each day. From transit schedules and event information to finding your academic advisor, the staff at The Welcome Centre is ready to lend a helping hand. Welcome Centre hours are:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am to 7:30 pm
- Friday: 9:00 am to 5 pm
- Saturday, Sunday & University holidays: Closed

Now Accepting Donations on Behalf of RAFT and Community Care
Posted October 19th. The Welcome Centre is working with the Student Learning and Community Life (SLCE) department at Brock and is currently accepting "suitable for youth and gently used" clothing donations for RAFT (Resource Association For Teens) from October 18th to 31st. RAFT is a local, non-profit organization that provides shelter and support for homeless and at-risk youth. Ongoing donations of non-perishable food for Community Care are also being accepted at the desk until further notice. Any assistance you can provide those in need in our community is always greatly appreciated.
New - Poster/Promotions Distribution Approval Now at SLIC
Posted October 19th. The promotions/poster distribution approval process has recently been moved from The Welcome Centre to the new Student Learning & Innovations Commons (SLIC), located in MacKenzie Chown A 204. Anyone looking to have their advertisements or posters approved to post on Brock's bulletin boards will now be directed to the SLIC office. SLIC hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, with extended hours to 9:00 pm on Tuesdays.
Posted October 20th. It's United Way season and the donations thermometer will once again, be placed in the Tower lobby on October 20th. Watch for it, and watch how your generosity helps achieve Brock's United Way fundraising goal.
Faculty & Staff - Never Carry Cash on Campus Again!
Posted October 18th. Faculty and staff can now load their Brock faculty/staff card for a fast and flexible, no-worry alternative to carrying cash. Add any amount of money to your card via our convenient online payment system using MasterCard of Visa through our safe and secure website: https://card.brocku.ca - it works the same as a debit card, without any transaction costs or monthly fees. Fast and convenient, you won't have to carry cash again to any of our Tim Horton's or other food outlets on campus - all you need to do is swipe, go, and enjoy!

St. Catharines Transit Now on The Card - Just Swipe and Ride
Updated October 15th. Students are now swiping their Card on St. Catharines Transit, out latest community partner added to the card system. Transit stickers are still required and available from BUSU, but all students have to do is swipe and ride the St. Catharines Transit.
Edutravel: Alumni & Friends Travel Program
Posted Ocotober 15th. The Alumni & Friends Travel Program under the Edutravel umbrella is reporting positive responses to the trip bookings for 2011. Brock alumni will be contacted by e-mail in late October with details on further pre-brochure select trip discounts. Changes to S Lot Parking
Posted October 15th. S Lot has now been divided with a portion of the lot being used for residence student permit parking and D Lot day parking overflow, with the second section for day permit holders.
Changes to Zone 1 Parking
Posted October 15th. Additional and more convenient entrances to Zone 1 have been created to allow for better access. E Lot, which offers pay and display parking, has been relocated slightly to the north-east corner of Zone 1. Reserved Lot A, also located in Zone 1, has been reconfigured and extended slightly north. Permits are still available for Reserved Lot A.
Fall Permit Sales
Posted October 15th. Zone 1 permits are currently sold out however, Zone 2 permits are still available. To purchase a Zone 2 permit, please visit Parking Services located on campus in Theal House during regular business hours.
International Building Parking
Posted October 15th. In addition to permit parking, pay and display parking is now available in EA Lot, conveniently located between Glenridge Ave. and the new International Services Building on the east side of Glenridge.
We are please to welcome our new student enforcement crew and recently added a new evening enforcement supervisor to our parking team.
Farmers Market Now Indoors Every Friday in Market Hall
Posted October 14th. The weekly Farmers Market will continue indoors in Market Hall every Friday, from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Vendors showcased at the Fall/Winter Farmers Market include:

Posted October 14th. A new and exciting eating establishment, Noodles, is now open across the road from main campus. Offering an assortment of Asian and halal delights, along with an amazing tea bar, be sure to check out "Noodles" and experience a different kind of eating establishment.
"Made in Japan Teriyaki Experience" Now Open in the Walker Complex Food Court
Posted October 14th. An Asian-inspired, quick serve franchise, Teriyaki Experience is dedicated to serving delicious and healthy alternatives to traditional fast food. Now open on campus in the Walker Complex, the Teriyaki Experience meal is pure Japanese simplicity based on teppanyaki-style preparation - cooking on a steel grill. Fresh vegetables and bean sprouts are stir-fried in a flash, as well as your choice of chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu. You can choose from Japanese-style yakisoba noodles or Japanese steamed rice and then meals can be topped off with their famous sauces. Through their "Live Light. Permits will be processed this week (August 23rd) and mailed out to those faculty and staff who have submitted their permit order form. "Teriyaki Experience" Coming This September to the Walker Food Court!
Posted August 3rd. Established in 1986 in Oakville, Ontario, the Teriyaki Experience concept is recognized as a healthy, quick-service alternative. Nutritious and delicious, Teriyaki Experience meals are prepared fast and fresh in front of each customer, and cooked with water, not oil. Some of the featured menu items will include Pan Asian Noodles, Yakisobi Noodle Dishes, Gyozo and Sushi. In addition to a healthy approach, the Teriyaki Experience system also supports local purchasing.
Teriyaki Experience is expected to open in the Walker Food Court September 7th. Watch for it!

Posted June 25th. Summer is officially here! The Farmers Market is back on campus for another season, boasting fresh, local produce and tantalizing treats! Every Friday, until September 24th, come on out to the Jubilee Court to experience the best Niagara has to offer - have some for lunch and be sure to take some home with you.
The Farmers Market will take place every Friday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and will also feature live music from Brock talent and BBQ. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Brock Card Office has Moved!
Posted June 25th. Effective immediately, Brock Card and their services will operate out of their new office located in The Market.
Should you wish to obtain a Brock ID card, replace a lost or stolen card, add funds to your current card, or require other services the Brock Card office provides, please visit them in their new location in The Market.

The Market & Summer Hours
Posted July 22nd. "Local" is always on the menu at The Market. A celebration of Niagara's best ingredients, The Market features such fare as a shaker salad bar, fresh sushi, gourmet burgers, rotisserie roasted chicken, fresh stir-fries at the 360 Grill, and custom made sandwiches.
The Market opened in early May, and seats over 500 people. It has been well received by the Brock and greater community to date, and we look forward to the return of students in September - many of whom will be able to experience The Market for the first time. Fall 2010 Parking Permits Now Available for Order
Posted June 25th. Faculty, staff and students may now order their Fall 2010 parking permits online. Visa or MasterCard are accepted for online payment, or other payment options exist for faculty and staff. Please note that as in past years, permits are available to the Brock community on a first come, first serve basis.

Youth University - Summer Enrichment Camps
Posted June 25th. Summer Enrichment Day Camps are available this summer for youth who are just finishing grades 3 - 8. Offering fun learning opportunities with adventurous recreation, Youth University has over 40 different camps to choose from throughout the summer, delivered in university classrooms and labs. Led by university-aged instructors and based on educational research and theory, we strive to make Youth University a place where every child feels comfortable to be themselves, make friends, and have a great time!
Price: $160 per child, or $155 per child when registering for multiple weeks or multiple siblings.
