What is the Club Development Workshop?
The Centre for Sport Capacity was proud to partner with the City of Welland to host its second Club Development Workshop on Thursday, November 30th, 2023, from 6-7:30pm at the Welland Community Centre. This workshop focused on the psychological costs of emotional labour in coaching. Former Brock University SPMA alumni Jesse Porter and Dr. Kirsty Spence shared ways to better understand the emotional demands coaches face.
What was gained by attending? An understanding of emotional labour and its impact on your well-being and insight about effective strategies that create supportive networks within the coaching community.
