  • December 6, 2016 – Remembrance Service for National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

    All are welcome to a remembrance service on Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, established by Canadian parliament in 1991 in response to the murders of fourteen young women at L’École Polytechnique in Montréal on December 6th, 1989

  • March 20, 2023 – “Witness, Testimony, and Prophecy: A Discussion In and On Story,” presented by Annette Daniels-Taylor

    Join us for a presentation by Annette Daniels-Taylor, “Witness, Testimony, and Prophecy: A Discussion In and On Story,” featuring her short biographical film Rose Dies Friday (2019). Rose Dies Friday explores the story of slave-girl Rose Butler, born in 1799. She was the last person hung for arson in New York State, in what is now Washington Square Park, 1818.

    Annette Daniels Taylor’s art practice explores storytelling. She is an award-winning writer and an active Buffalo, New York theatre artist directing, acting, and writing stage productions. As a filmmaker Annette’s cinematic poems have screened in festivals and exhibited in the United States and internationally. Annette teaches Writing for Broadcast at SUNY Buffalo State University and acting with D’Youville University’s Dramatic Theature Arts MFA program.
