Lifespan Speaker Series – Acceptance and Commitment Training for Caregivers: Applications in research and real life

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is a therapy often provide to caregivers of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs) – such as an intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. ACT focuses on providing those caregivers with specific mental health related therapy to help reduce the high levels of stress that they may be experiencing.

This free webinar hosted on October 19, 2021, discussed:

  • What ACT is and why it is an important treatment option for caregivers of children with NDDs
  • The real world impact of ACT with caregivers
  • Suggestions for future research on ACT
