Research Enterprise Plan 2025–2030
The Research Enterprise Plan (REP) adapts the core themes of Brock University’s Institutional Strategic Plan 2025–2030 to the team and infrastructure supporting Brock’s research-related priorities and directions. Outlining the goals and values for the Research Enterprise, the REP ensures the alignment of its Action Plan, developed separately, with the institution’s established strategic directions.
Strategic Research Plan 2026–2030
In alignment with Brock University’s Institutional Strategic Plan 2025-2030 (ISP), the objective of the Strategic Research Plan (SRP) is to promote alignment among research capacity and infrastructure, areas of excellence, recruitment of scholars and graduate students, and capacity for Brock research to have high impact through uptake, partnerships, commercialization, and collaborations. The Canada Research Chairs program (CRCP), and affiliated Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) programming, will serve as multipliers on the intensity and impact of Brock University research, scholarship, and creativity, by supporting collaborative and transdisciplinary inquiry across areas of research excellence.
In fulfilling Brock’s commitment to shape tomorrow through research, discovery and knowledge, the SRP guides the definition of areas of existing research excellence, as well as areas of emergent opportunity, all while holding firm to principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI); commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous communities; and embracing different ways of knowing, including Indigenous knowledge and transdisciplinarity.

Research Enterprise units
The Research Enterprise refers to the collective infrastructure that supports researchers at Brock University. The Research Enterprise recognizes the full research lifecycle, including planning, grants, awards, facilities and infrastructure, regulatory requirements, research security, knowledge transfer, and commercialization.
The Office of the Vice-President, Research (OVPR), oversees and facilitates research operations, facilitation, governance, and strategic planning for Brock University. The Research Enterprise facilitates a wide range of research, scholarship, and creative activities, each requiring its own forms of support, and each with connections to teaching and learning, to research impact, and to engagement with non-academic partners.
The OVPR currently comprises the Vice-President, Research and the Associate Vice-President, Research, as well as key staff support in financial management; strategic initiatives; equity, diversity, and inclusion; honours, prizes, awards, and distinctions; and office management.
