As President Rigg and Interim Provost Kenyon discussed at the town hall held on Thursday, February 15, Brock is facing unprecedented fiscal challenges. With no significant changes expected in funding from the provincial government, the solution to these challenges lies both in restricting expenses and in generating revenue.
Following decades of underfunding from the Province, compounded since 2019 by decreased and then frozen tuition, Brock has become accustomed to reducing costs and finding efficiencies. Important streams for new revenue have also been launched, notably with the creation of the Professional and Continuing Studies unit and with the founding of the Yousef Haj-Ahmad Department of Engineering.
These challenging fiscal times require us to continue being creative, responsive, and innovative, and there is room for everyone’s ideas in finding solutions. As a result, Brock is inviting members of the Brock community, including students, staff, faculty members and professional librarians, to share their ideas and suggestions for revenue generation at the University.
Please use the field below to submit your ideas. Ideas can be shared anonymously. However, contact information can also be provided should follow-up be required.
The community input process will remain open until April 30, 2024.
