Research

The Chair aims to identify, analyze, and develop sustainable practices and techniques that rural communities can adopt in order to sustainably use their resources while protecting the health of their ecosystem for future generations.

The objectives regarding the training component are to support the development and training of programs and courses in sustainability for undergraduate and graduate students and to facilitate exchanges and information sharing by developing materials for rural communities using lay language.

Through collaborations and connections, establish an international network (of researchers, NGOs, practitioners) interested in communicating and exchanging knowledge and best practices to help least developed countries and vulnerable communities to improve their capacity to achieve livelihoods through sustainable resource use with an emphasis on women as their needs are often greater than men, especially in rural communities.
