MBE Student Emilia Zamfir Represents Brock at Oxford

Master of Business Economics student Emilia Zamfir recently took her research to the international stage, representing Brock University at the 2026 Map the System global competition at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

Emilia was a member of the first Brock team in the University’s history to compete at the global event, held from July 9 to 12. The team presented its project, The Unintended Consequences of Social Media Overuse Among Adolescents: Health, Educational, Economic, Environmental and Policy Implications in Canada.

Hosted by the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Map the System brings together students from around the world to investigate the root causes of complex social and environmental issues.

For Emilia, the experience provided an opportunity to share important research with an international audience, connect with students and policy makers from around the world, and gain new perspectives on addressing social challenges.
