Brock-Canada Games Academic Showcase

Wednesday October 5th & Thursday October 6th

Brock University’s partnership with the Niagara 2022 Canada Games presented wonderful opportunities for research, teaching, and community engagement, creating a lasting legacy for the Niagara community, future Canada Games events and the sport world in general.

In celebration of all the great work done by the Brock Community, leading up to and during the Canada Games, we would like to invite all to the Brock-Canada Games Academic Showcase. Taking place on October 5th and 6th in Brock’s Rankin Family Pavilion, this two-day event offers many choices for you to learn more about the innovative teaching, research mobilization, and volunteering projects associated with the Games.

Discover how Brock invested in research, built curricular connections, and enhanced community engagement during the Niagara 2022 Canada Games. Celebrate the success of this partnership and its lasting academic legacy at both the University and in the Niagara region!

Be sure to check out the keynote address “Let’s end the dependence upon major games as a strategy of sport development in Canada,” to be delivered from 5:15-6:45pm October 6th, Pond Inlet, by Dr. Bruce Kidd, Professor Emeritus, Sport & Public Policy, University of Toronto. We will also be launching the Brock-Canada Games Academic Report.

Although we encourage people to register in advance, you are most welcome to join on October 5th and/or October 6th. We hope to see you there!
