Academic Withdrawal Deadlines

The tables below show the first and last day of each duration, as well as the last date to withdraw from a course without academic penalty.

  • Withdrawal without academic penalty: Courses withdrawn on or before the applicable academic penalty deadline appear on the transcript with a “Withdrawn” notation and the date of withdrawal.
  • Withdrawal with academic penalty: Courses withdrawn after the academic penalty deadline appear on the transcript with the assigned grade.

Important: The deadlines to withdraw without academic penalty are separate from the financial deadlines that govern tuition refunds and other financial adjustments. Academic penalty deadlines determine how a course appears on your transcript. Financial deadlines determine tuition refunds and other financial adjustments as applicable. Refer to Financial Deadlines section below for an overview and the Student Accounts and Financial Aid’s Drops, Withdrawals and Refunds page for detailed refund and adjustment schedules.
