Library

Did you know that the James A. Gibson Library has over 670,000 books, 56,000 maps, and 26,000 sound recordings and videos?

Did you also know that Brock graduates are welcomed to use the Brock Library facilities free?

In 2006 the Brock University Alumni Association successfully formed an agreement with the James A. Gibson Library to offer complimentary borrowing privileges to Brock graduates on an on-going basis. Access does not include the reserve collection or electronic databases due to the restrictive licensing agreements. Inter-library loan privileges are available at a fee of $50 per annum and other library services for alumni are constantly being investigated.

An Alumni Card is required to take advantage of these services.  If you require a new Alumni Card, please e-mail alumni@brocku.ca or call 905-688-5550 ext. 3816

For more information, go to the James A. Gibson Library Website.

Daycare

The Rosalind Blauer Centre for Child Care is located on the Brock University campus. It operates year-round and is a fully licensed facility that provides a safe, stimulating learning environment for children between the ages of three months and five years. A school-age program for children aged six to 12 years is available during summer months. The centre offers full-and part-time programs and is open to students, faculty and staff, alumni, as well as the Brock community. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Based on the theory that children learn through play, classroom routines encourage active involvement, meaningful experimentation and reinforcement through repetition.

Subsidies are available for those families who qualify.
