EXPERT ADVISORY – Nov. 3, 2026 — R0099
As voters in the United States of America head to the polls for midterm general elections, Brock University experts are available to provide insight into what the results could mean for Canada and ongoing trade negotiations between the neighbouring countries.
Held at the two-year mark of a presidential term, midterm elections determine who will control the House of Representatives and the Senate. U.S. voters will have the opportunity to deliver a verdict on the first two years of President Donald Trump’s second term.
Experts from Brock’s Department of Political Science are available for media interviews on the following topics:
- Professor and Department Chair Blayne Haggart can speak to the implications of the midterms on Canada-U.S. relations, including trade relations and negotiations.
- Associate Professor Paul Hamilton can discuss political parties and elections, as well as the implications of the vote.
Brock University Political Science Professor Blayne Haggart and Associate Professor Paul Hamilton are available for media interviews on this topic.
