Co-induced modules and their cohomology: Shapiro’s lemma
Let H be a subgroup of a group G. Given an H-module, we will enhance it functorially to a G-module called the co-induced module. We will find the relation between the cohomology of the H-module and that of the co-induced G-module. This is the essence of Shapiro’s lemma.
