Have questions about your Convocation Ceremony?

When will I find my Convocation Ceremony date and time? Convocation is a special time to celebrate your achievements with family and friends, and we look forward to celebrating with you June 10-14, 2024. Review your Intent to Graduate on BrockDB for your confirmed ceremony time. Review the Ceremony schedule for general information.

Where will I check in and get my regalia (gown and hood) for the ceremony? Plan to arrive 60 to 90 minutes prior to the ceremony’s scheduled start time. You pick up your regalia at the Bob Davis Gymnasium (located in the Walker Complex). There is no need to reserve your regalia and there is no charge provided regalia is returned on time. You will be given instructions for the ceremony at this time, the graduand procession begins 30 minutes prior to the start of ceremony so it is important that you arrive early.

After your convocation ceremony (about 1 hour), you will return your regalia in the Bob Davis Gymnasium to avoid fees.

How many guests can I bring and where will they go when they arrive? Due to limited seating in the Ian Beddis Gymnasium, Graduates will be limited to two guests and guests will provide the names of the graduate to the check-in table prior to entering the Ceremony location. Please provide your guest with your full name and student ID.

For exceptional circumstances, a limited number of additional seats may be granted (i.e. PhD graduates, award recipients, etc). Guests who attend over the limit, will be directed to the overflow room to watch the livestream.

Family and friends who are unable to attend convocation will be able to watch via livestream.

How do I invite family and friends to visit Canada for my convocation? If you have family and friends who are international and require a Temporary Resident Visa, please visit the Brock International website for the required documentation.

Who do I contact if my guests or I have questions regarding accommodations such as accessibility seating? Our ushers and convocation staff will be located throughout the gymnasium and surrounding areas and will be happy to assist you. Please arrive 20 minutes early if you require assistance finding a seat. Information regarding accessibility.

Will there be free parking? Yes, parking will be free. You can find a map of Brock’s parking lots here. If you have any accessibility needs for parking contact Parking Services at parking@brocku.ca

Will I be able to have my diploma framed? The Brock Campus Store will be set up in the Walker Complex. Pre-order your diploma frames and jump to the front of the line to pick them up after the ceremony.

Where can I buy souvenirs? Brock giftware, honour cords, flowers, official Brock jewelers and last minute items such as batteries and memory cards will be available to purchase at the Brock Campus Store.

If you are interested in purchasing a hood or full PhD regalia you can buy them at Gaspard’s.

 How do I get Grad photos done? Graduation Photo sessions are coordinated through the Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU).

If I am an Indigenous student, can I wear cultural regalia at Convocation? Students with questions about formal regalia are encouraged to be in touch with us at convocation@brocku.ca

Am I able to change my name in the Convocation program and what is orated on stage as I cross? Yes. Please e-mail us at records@brocku.ca and let us know if you have a preferred name that you would like used in these two instances (or only one or the other).

Note: Graduands were able to select the name that will appear on their diploma parchment when they submitted the Intent to Graduate form.

I am not attending my convocation ceremony. How will I get my diploma?

Diplomas will be mailed out approximately 2 weeks after convocation. Ensure that your name, mailing address and phone number are correct on your Brock Portal. We cannot mail your diploma to a Postal Box.

You will be required to sign for your delivery. If you are not home to sign for the delivery, your diploma will be returned to Brock.

Please note that if you want your diploma mailed to an international address, additional delivery fees will apply. This fee will be non-refundable.
