Brock LINC

The Brock LINC (Brock Lincoln-Living Lab) focuses on three big things: foster a culture of creativity and innovation at the university, grow entrepreneurship, and support research innovation and capacity at the university. With a myriad of events, programs and services that are open to students, staff, faculty, and community members, Brock LINC resources are focused on how to support people through the innovation journey.

Brock-Niagara Validation, Prototyping and Manufacturing Institute (VPMI)

The VPMI is a collaborative hub connecting Brock researchers and students with industry partners. it integrates technical expertise and innovation at Brock University with “upstream” scientific equipment partners and “downstream” souther Ontario businesses. The VPMI is dedicated to supporting the bio products, bioscience, bioagriculture and chemical manufacturing sectors in souther Ontario and beyond through research and innovation, testing and prototyping, and training.

Goodman Group

Goodman Group is a business incubation facility that integrates University expertise and community resources to support entrepreneurs who are establishing new ventures. This is accomplished through Goodman Group’s ability to provide a physical incubation space, access to business support services from the partners of Innovate Niagara, as well as Innovate Niagara’s dynamic web portal.

Brock Innovation

The office of Brock Innovation helps to connect businesses and organizations to Brock researchers and available funding programs. The office also provides extension services, which include the use of Brock equipment or facilities, as well as the sale of surplus materials such as specialty chemicals.


The Educational Research and Innovation Hub is supporting educational technology companies that seek to develop innovative educational tools and resources that support 21st century teaching and learning.

Niagara Community Observatory (NCO)

The NCO is a unit of Brock University that works in partnership with the Niagara community to foster, produce, and disseminate evidence-based research on current and emerging issues.


A daylong program of activities surrounding social justice issues, including workshops, performances, exhibits and information tables. The Forum is free and open to the public.

Consider This is a podcast series that shares stories and research surrounding Niagara’s current and emerging issues across a variety of sectors.

A unique program that links senior secondary school students to Brock mentors from various disciplines including Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Neuroscience, and Physics.  The program offers students the opportunity to pursue a real-life scientific investigation under the supervision of a faculty or staff member in a university laboratory environment.


A national, community-based program connecting educators and youth with outstanding volunteers to deliver a wide variety of meaningful science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities for children as young as three years old and youth up to Grade 12. 

Outreach to Schools and Enrichment Programs

The Faculty of Mathematics & Science offers a number of outreach and enrichment programs to elementary and secondary school teachers, students, and parents.


A two day residential workshop designed to encourage young people in Grades 10 and 11 to continue their studies in the sciences and to pursue careers in science-related fields. It provides an opportunity for students to learn more about science in a university setting.

Calibrate with CCOVI is a series of workshops designed to help the grape and wine industry ‘calibrate’ different aspects of their operations, including the accuracy of their equipment.


The CCOVI Lecture Series features talks by CCOVI Fellows and Professional Affiliates about topics of importance to grape growers and winemakers.


The Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) at Brock University and the Dairy Farmers of Canada present “Educate your senses” wine and cheese seminars during the Niagara Wine Festival.


A lecture series that attracts and showcases world leaders in the cultivation of premium vinifera grapes in Ontario and British Columbia.


TanninAlert is an online tannin-monitoring portal providing customized data retrieval and tracking tools that facilitate best tannin management practices and informed decision-making throughout the winemaking process.

International Cool Climate Wine Symposium

Brock University’s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) welcomed 350 delegates from across the globe to Niagara for the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium 2022. The symposium’s 10th instalment, which took place July 17 to 21, marked the first time the prestigious conference was held in Canada.

National Facility for Virus-Free Grapevine Plant Material

The National Grapevine Germplasm Repository Project led by Sudarsana Poojari, Senior Staff Scientist at CCOVI, is a facility that maintains high-quality, virus-free plant materials and eliminated viruses and other pathogens of concern in grapevines is up and running at Brock University.
