CHYDS’ Travel Fund
Description: The Centre for Healthy Youth Development through Sport (CHYDS) is offering a travel fund designed to help full-time students and post-doctoral fellows who research areas of healthy youth development through sport and physical activity, and plan to present at a knowledge mobilization event (e.g., conference, workshop, symposium, forum, community development project). The goal of this financial support is to enhance the quality of the student experiences at Brock through participation in knowledge mobilization activities.
Amount: Up to $400 per individual (total funds: $1200/year, one grant awarded per semester). If funds are not used during the given semester, they will be rolled over to next semester. If we have multiple applicants, we will do our best to provide support to all students, within the allocated $400 amount.
Adjudication: All applications per semester will be reviewed by two CHYDS members.
Applicants must:
- Be a full-time Brock University (a) undergraduate student, (b) graduate student, or (c) post-doctoral fellow
- Present on a topic that aligns with the mandate of the Centre for Healthy Youth Development through Sport
- Apply for the travel fund only once per academic year (May to April), up to a maximum of two times during a given degree
If awarded, the individual is required to:
- Show proof of acceptance to the event and provide original expense receipts post-event.
- Provide a knowledge product (e.g., poster, infographic, blog, video) that summarizes the presented research/initiative upon return from the event. Please note, this will be posted on the CHYDS website and/or social media platforms.

- Travel in Spring/Summer Semester: August 1st
- Travel in Fall Semester: December 1st
