Fair to showcase student wellness, success supports

With Fall Term classes in full swing, the Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre (SWAC) and Student Life and Success (SLS) Learning Services teams are connecting students with supports and services to help them thrive at Brock.

The Success and Wellness Day Fair takes place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 in Market Hall. Students will have a chance to learn more about health and wellness, academic and social resources all while grabbing some pizza.

The fair will feature departments from across campus, including the Hadiya’dagénhahs First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Centre, Learning Services, Academic Advising and the Black Student Success Centre (BSSC) as well as Student Health Services and Personal Counselling.

“Whether they’re navigating mental or physical health challenges, wanting to improve and build confidence in their classes or seeking culturally responsive supports, Brock students have access to a wide range of services to help them thrive personally and academically,” says Brad Clarke, Associate Vice-President, Students.

Additional event details are available on ExperienceBU.

Mental and physical health support

SWAC’s mental health supports include confidential 24-7 telephone crisis counselling. To access 24-7 telephone crisis counselling, students in North America can call 1-833-276-2533 (1-833-BROCK33) and students outside of North America can call 001 416 382 3257. Additional crisis resources can be found on the SWAC website.

Ongoing in-person or online counselling sessions, same-day in-person counselling sessions, and group workshops are also available for Brock students.
