Community Partners Virtual Recognition Reception

Thank you for joining us virtually as we honour the ongoing support and dedication of our valued and appreciated Community Partners.

A message from our Dean

Peter Tiidus

Dean, Faculty of Applied Health Sciences

Each year our faculty enjoys taking the time to celebrate the many valuable partnerships the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences has developed with community partners across the Niagara region and beyond, by way of experiential education and research opportunities. Although this year may look a bit different, I am delighted to host this event virtually and revel together in our shared successes!

There is so much to celebrate. We are embracing the opportunities that change brings, and we will all emerge from this year with greater understanding of how to better support, innovate and educate with the goal of enhancing the health and well-being of our communities. This is in large part because of the contributions and flexibility each of you, and your organizations have made.

While our students, faculty and staff have certainly felt the strain of having to adapt our academic programs to the current reality. None of this would be possible, without you, our partners.

Some of our partners work with us on research. Others provide training opportunities in their workplaces through internships and clinical placements, while others facilitate learning through financial contributions and support that enable ongoing and significant growth within our faculty.

Each year, we host this event to thank our partners for cultivating working relationships which allow for increased mentorship, experiential education and research opportunities for our students. As you know, experiential education provides opportunities for our students to apply their knowledge in authentic ways and is a pillar of learning for our Faculty and Brock University. The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences strives to help make the world a healthier place, by conducting research and working with community partners regionally, nationally, and internationally.

On behalf of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, welcome and thank you. We look forward to future success as we continue to work together for a better future.

Thank you to our sponsors

Thank you to our incredible sponsors who were committed to making our 2020 in-person event an unforgettable experience! Although we unfortunately did not get the opportunity to celebrate in person at the Scotia Bank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls as we had hoped, we appreciate your generous sponsorship and continued support of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences.

We look forward to celebrating our Community Partners in person in the hopefully not so distant future, and we look forward to working together once again. Cheers!
