Be Aware, Be Observant, Be Thoughtful, Be Safe!
Brock University is committed to the protection and prevention of injury for its staff, faculty, and students. Brock requires health, safety, and education to be a primary objective in every area of operation.
Safety is everybody’s business, everyone’s responsibility, and encompasses many dimensions. Be Safe @ Brock strives “to bring all the University’s safety resources into one place in order to inform and assist the University community and the general public.” All University departments work to create and maintain a healthy and safe environment to live, work, study, and play. New this Month!
Neighbors, Friends and Families led an informational workshop at Brock University on October 5th on Preventing, Recognizing, and Responding to Domestic Violence in Our Community.
Domestic violence is not a private matter, it is a societal one that affects every community. Recognizing, responding and referring to appropriate resources are key components of professional development for members of any workplace, particularly one that involves a large population, multiple ages and both transient and static residential populations.
The training offered enhanced training with practical application and problem-solving, including a discussion of prevention strategies relevant to academic communities.
This training has been compressed as a one-hour lunch and learn and we invite all members of the university to attend on December 6th in the Sankey Chamber. To register, please visit www.brocku.ca/hr/training/focus
