Campus Safety

Campus Alerts are a way of informing and involving the campus community in cooperation with the police and Campus Safety Services, aimed at maintaining a safe community in which to live, work, and learn.

Our campus is a safe place but being actively involved with this program is an extra deterrent. Police have found that areas with Neighbourhood Watch-type programs have crime rates significantly lower than that of other areas.

Report a crime and Crime Stoppers provides a means of reducing the opportunity for crime to occur through the active participation of the community in crime prevention. The initiative will also help to co-ordinate the efforts of the police and the community in tracking down transgressors. Strong community involvement is encouraged because campus unity can deter crime.
