Brock University and Niagara Parks to further environmental collaboration

MEDIA RELEASE: 5 March 2020 – R0037

Since signing an agreement two years ago, the Niagara Parks Commission and Brock University have been working together to address needs and opportunities related to environmental stewardship.

The partnership has been beneficial to Niagara Parks, which has used Brock research to help further improve its sustainability goals, as well as to University faculty and students, who have been able to use Niagara Parks properties such as the Niagara Glen as their classrooms and research labs.

Now, Niagara Parks and Brock are taking that collaboration another step forward with the introduction of a new five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be known as the Trails Assets and Tourism Initiative, which will involve the two organizations, as well as the Ontario Trails Council.

The proposed MOU will be presented at the Niagara Parks Commission public meeting on Thursday, March 12 at Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex.

What: Collaboration update and MOU signing between Brock University, the Niagara Parks Commission and Ontario Trails Council

Who: Niagara Parks Chair Sandie Bellows; Brock University Provost and Vice-President, Academic Greg Finn; Ontario Trails Council President Wayne Terryberry

When: Thursday, March 12 at 9 a.m.

Where: Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex, 9172 Willoughby Drive, Niagara Falls, Ontario
