  • Mohsin Jamil, Ph.D., P.Eng., SMIEEE, received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK, in 2012. He also holds two Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering—from the National University of Singapore (2008) and Dalarna University, Sweden (2006)—and a B.Eng. (Hons.) in Industrial Electronics Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan (2005). He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • With nearly 20 years of academic and research experience, Dr. Jamil has collaborated with institutions across Asia, Europe, and North America. His research spans control systems, power electronics, renewable energy integration, microgrids, and smart grid technologies, resulting in over 250 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and conferences. He has supervised/co-supervised 45 highly qualified personnel (HQPs) and has developed and taught 35 graduate and undergraduate courses. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and widely recognized in the field.
  • Jamil currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering at Brock University, where he is the Director of the Smart Energy Systems Laboratory. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering, covering electric and electronic Circuits, power electronics, control systems, and renewable energy.
  • He also has extensive experience in program development and engineering accreditation. His distinguished career has earned him over 20 honors for research and teaching excellence, and he has been recognized on Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists List in Electrical Engineering since 2023.
