Intensive English Language Program

Advance your English language skills and prepare for your future academic studies at Brock with our Intensive English Language Program (IELP).

Whether you have been conditionally accepted to Brock University for undergraduate or graduate studies or you are looking to improve your English language skills, start studying English by enrolling in IELP.  Our Canadian English Language Program is a great way to strengthen your abilities in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

  • Beginner to advanced courses, with entrance test to evaluate skill level

Duration

Class time: 25 hours per week including self study time.

Completion of this program’s highest level (Level 5), satisfies the English language requirement for Brock’s undergraduate and graduate programs that require English Proficiency Test Scores of IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (88) or equivalent.

All IELP applications require a $250 deposit and $25 application fee due at the time of application and are non-refundable.

Health Insurance is charged for both in person and online studies to allow for flexibility in your study location, abroad or in Canada.

Once payment has been received in full, students will be registered for the program.

For students who enroll in in-person IELP studies, but are unable to complete the program in-person and pursue the online option, will not receive any refunds or credits for the difference in cost.

Technology Requirements

For In-person and online studies.
Laptop: Windows 10 or higher or equivalent operating system with recommended 8 GB of  RAM and at least 16 GB of free hard disk space and Wi-Fi capabilities.

Online studies only.
Access to reliable  high-speed broadband internet access (Cable, DSL, LTE) with a minimum bandwidth of 15 Mbps is recommended.
Laptop must include integrated webcam and microphone.

Textbooks and materials

All textbooks and in-class materials are included in tuition.
