SAS offers a variety of peer programs and workshops, along with volunteer opportunities and events, to support student engagement both in and outside the classroom.

Peers

SAS Peer Support (Fall/Winter)

Providing peer-to-peer support, resources, and guidance to help students with disabilities navigate university life, build academic and time management skills, and access their accommodations. You can book an appointment with either of our Peers (ONLY DURING FALL/WINTER TERM) using the options below.

Workshops

SAS Orientation

SAS Orientation supports students in learning how to access OASIS, renew their accommodations on the first day of each semester, confirm tests and exams, and contact SAS.

Genio Foundations Workshop (Fall/Winter Term)

For students with a recording accommodation and signed recording agreement. This virtual workshop, hosted by our Assistive Technologist/Learning Strategist, focuses on the use of Genio when it is recommended as an accommodation. Join for a hands-on tutorial on getting started with Genio Notes.

SAS Study Hall (Fall/Winter Term)

Hosted by our SAS Peers, the SAS Study Hall is designed for students with disabilities who are looking for a supportive space that addresses individualized needs for getting work done.

When: The SAS Study Hall runs only during the fall/winter semester. For additional resources or support, please connect with our service coordinators or your case management team.

Volunteer

SAS Student Advisory Panel

For students seeking an opportunity to inform and advise on matters relating to academic accessibility at Brock.

This panel is coordinated by SAS staff and includes students with disabilities as well as allies. Applications are accepted during September only.

Campus Collaborations

Through our partnerships with the Black Student Success Centre, the HUB and Student Life and Success, we aim to support all students in academic and co-curricular involvement.

Black Student Success Centre (BSSC)

SAS is pleased to support Black students at Brock through drop-in opportunities at the BSSC. Here, Black students can access support related to academics, accessibility, mental health, and on-campus navigation.
