  • Recognize the importance of creating and maintaining a total rewards strategy and the impact on an organization.   
  • Identify the connection between a total rewards strategy and an employee’s understanding of how they are compensated.   
  • Determine the key components of creating an effective compensation framework to set the parameters in which employees are compensated.   
  • Assess the various job evaluation methods and recognize the primary purpose of conducting job evaluations and job analyses in your organization.   
  • Explore relevant legislative considerations and implications in the world of total rewards.   
  • Evaluate various approaches for determining employee salaries and identify your organization’s ‘target market’.   
  • Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of performance pay and identify the most effective approaches to designing and implementing a performance pay program.
  • Examine the core components of direct and indirect compensation and recognize how they should both connect back to the total rewards strategy.

  • General computer and technology use abilities.

Technology Requirements

For in-person and online studies:
  • Laptop: Minimum Windows 10 or equivalent operating system. Recommended 8GB of RAM and at least 16 GB of free hard disk space and Wi-Fi capabilities.
Online studies only:
  • Access to reliable high-speed broadband internet access (Cable, DSL, LTE) with a minimum bandwidth of 15 Mbps is recommended.
  • Laptop must include integrated webcam and microphone.

To successfully complete your program, you will complete all components of the program. Your progress will be continuously evaluated using a variety of formative and/or summative assessments to receive a final mark. Information about these assessment methods will be provided in the Learning Management System on the first day of the program.

Intake Details

A fully asynchronous online course does not require real-time communications. Asynchronous online courses do not have the required on-campus components, including assessments. The course will have a set start and finish date and set due dates for assignments and assessments.
