In this comprehensive micro-credential, you will learn what it means to be a change agent for sustainability and how you can make a real difference in your community or workplace. This micro-credential will explore the key traits and responsibilities that make someone an effective leader for sustainability. You will discover, through effective communication and problem-solving, how to tackle existing and future environmental challenges.
Working with other learners, you will collaborate on creative problems that focus around key sustainability measures to apply your learning to drive change in real-life situations. You will leave this micro-credential with strong knowledge of sustainability efforts and the tools to help build a greener future.
Program Information
What you’ll learn studying Enacting Sustainable Environmental Change:
- Describe what being a change agent for sustainability mean
- Identify important characteristics, roles, and responsibilities of effective change agents for sustainability
- Comprehend the importance of communication, and utilize communication tools for effectively inspiring and enacting change
- Differentiate between problem-solving and decision-making, and explain what is involved in each
- Understand why collaboration is important for reaching sustainability goals in the workplace
- Understand the importance of monitoring and evaluating environmental sustainability initiatives, and how it can be accomplished
- Demonstrate practical application of aspects related to being an effective change agent to operationalize change in the workplace

PREREQUISITES
- No prerequisites are required to take this course.
- The course can be utilized as an elective towards gaining a Leadership in Environmental Sustainability Certificate.

- General computer and technology use abilities
- Working laptop with high-speed internet access
To successfully complete your program, you will need to complete all the components outlined in your course. Your progress will be continuously evaluated using a variety of formative and/or summative assessments to receive a final mark. Information about these assessment methods will be provided in the Learning Management System on the first day of the program.
Intake Details
This is an online course offering that allows learners the opportunity to connect with the instructor and their peers during synchronous class times. Synchronous sessions are not mandatory and sessions will be recorded and shared with learners.
