You will engage deeply with Universal Design for Learning (UDL), differentiated instruction (DI), trauma-informed strategies, and assistive technologies to address the diversity and accessibility needs of learners. You will also investigate culturally responsive and sustaining teaching methods, incorporate Indigenous peoples’ histories, perspectives, and knowledge systems, and consider the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
Throughout the course, you will take part in critical inquiry, reflection, and collaborative learning through case studies, dialogue, and professional tasks. The course concludes with a comprehensive portfolio and action plan that connects theory with practice, allowing you to explore transformative teaching and build leadership skills. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to act as a change agent, creating learning environments that promote well-being, affirm identity, and model equity and inclusion for all learners.
