In this course, educators will deepen their practice as Primary/Junior mathematics teachers by exploring how to design learning that is inclusive, equitable, and engaging for all learners. Participants will examine how frameworks such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Individual Education Plans (IEPs), English Language Learner (ELL) strategies, and Culturally Responsive and Relevant Pedagogy (CRRP) can work together to support diverse learners and ensure that every student has meaningful access to mathematics.
Through reflection and practical application, educators will explore ways to design rich mathematical tasks, scaffold learning, and use purposeful assessment practices that support student growth and belonging. The course also encourages participants to connect mathematics learning to students’ identities and communities while engaging in ongoing reflection and collaboration to strengthen their practice as mathematics educators.
