Program Costs – MA Applied Linguistics

Canadians and Permanent Residents (Regular/Direct Entry)

Tuition and fees: Approx $9,000 – $10,000 CAD per year (3 terms), including fees

Funding package (for full-time students in the MRP or Thesis stream):
First year: Graduate fellowship of $8,500 CAD
A paid TAship could increase that funding by approx $4,400-$8,800 (the TAship is not guaranteed)

The funding package includes a fellowship and a TAship. The fellowship is partially credited to the student’s Brock account each term, and the TAship provides employment income as a teaching assistant for one or more undergraduate courses.

Professional Program Merit Entrance Award:
$1000 CAD award for every incoming full-time student with an entrance average of 87% or higher.

Note: Additional scholarships are available by application. Students can also apply separately for the available TA positions for which they are qualified.

For Bridged Entry students:
Additional costs for the 8-week preparatory course ($2,000) and writing mentorship ($1,600) are applied.

International Students (Regular/Direct Entry)

Tuition Deposit Payment

Upon accepting the admission offer, international students are required to submit a tuition deposit to secure their place in the program. The deposit amount is outlined in the offer letter. The deposit is non-refundable and will be credited toward tuition and applicable fees. An exception applies if a study permit application is refused; in this case, a refund may be requested with an official visa refusal letter.
