In addition to the minimum admissions requirements, those applying to the Primary – Junior program are encouraged to have an area of concentration related to school curriculum. Additionally, some preference is given to Primary/Junior (B10) applicants with:
- a major/degree in Child and Youth Studies or Early Childhood Education
- completed university degree level courses (half or full credit) in one or more of Mathematics, Science and/or English
- completed university degree level courses (half or full credit) in Indigenous Studies
Applicants who have successfully completed an Early Child Education diploma as part of a degree-completion pathway, will be considered with a minimum of 8.0 university level credits at the time of application for the Primary/Junior Division. In these cases, the overall diploma average will be calculated and used in place of the missing credits toward the weighted average calculation.
