Consent & Gender and Sexual Violence Education for Incoming Badgers

As part of Brock University’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus community, all incoming first-year students are required to complete First-Year Consent Training.

This training consists of two mandatory components:

Step 1: Complete the online training module

Before arriving at Brock, complete the short 10–15-minute online consent training module through Brightspace.

After completing the module, you will receive a digital completion badge.

Step 2: Register for and attend an in-person workshop

All incoming first-year students must also participate in a one-hour, in-person consent workshop.

The interactive workshop builds on the topics introduced in the online module and provides an opportunity to explore the content through discussion and activities with other students.

Workshops will be offered throughout the day on:

Sunday, September 6
Monday, September 7

Additional workshops will also be available during the first few weeks of September.

What the training covers

Across the online module and in-person workshop, topics include:

  • Consent and healthy relationships
  • Introduction to gender and sexual violence
  • Bystander intervention
  • Supporting a friend who discloses
  • Brock supports and resources
