Brock University has partnered with International SOS (ISOS), the world’s largest medical and travel security service firm, to provide Brock students, staff and faculty with medical, safety and security advice, referrals and emotional support when traveling or living abroad.

Instructions on how to register for ISOS under Brock’s membership will be provided to students once they are under Brock’s membership will be provided to students travelling abroad once they contact [email protected] to arrange to complete their mandatory pre-departure activities or are confirmed participants of an exchange or study abroad program.
Students Travelling Abroad
Students participating in any university-sanctioned international academic, athletic, co-curricular, or experiential opportunity as part of their Brock student experience must complete required pre-departure activities before they depart Canada to participate in the activity. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- clinical placements
- co-curricular activities
- co-operative education work terms;
- credit and non-credit courses
- field trips
- internships
- practica
- scholarly conferences
- student exchange and study abroad program activities; and
- solo or group research projects.
Pre-departure activities will provide students with information on travel preparedness, cultural awareness, logistics consideration, obtaining appropriate out of country medical insurance, and safety considerations. Students can send an email to [email protected] at least 2 months prior to their participation in the international activity to arrange their participation in the pre-departure activity. Faculty leading international field courses must contact Brock International as early as possible to schedule the training session for their group.
Students going on exchange will receive the date and time for their pre-departure session via email.

Digital Learning Modules
Access over 40 self-paced e-learning courses and microlearning modules to help you prepare for a safe and enjoyable travel experience. To gain access to this suite of modules, you will need to have your ISOS account login information. Instructions on how to register for ISOS under Brock’s membership will be provided to students travelling abroad once they contact [email protected] to arrange to complete their mandatory pre-departure activities.

Registration of Canadians Abroad
Canadian travelers can add their name and contact information to the Government of Canada’s Registration of Canadians Abroad (ROCA) service. This listing allows consular services to assist you with advice and support should there be an emergency while you are abroad.
