Inbound Exchange

Would you like to study at Brock for one or two semesters? Students from one of Brock University’s exchange partner institutions can apply to study here after being nominated by their home institution.

How it Works

1.
Visit your exchange office.

Visit your home university’s exchange office to learn how you can study at Brock University.

2.
Apply through your home institution.

Your home institution’s exchange or international learning office will have its own application process for you to complete before you apply to Brock’s program.

3.
Acceptance and nomination.

If you are accepted through your home institution’s application process, your institution will then nominate you to Brock University’s international learning team.

4.
Apply to Brock’s inbound exchange program.

Once you are nominated by your home university, Brock’s international learning team will contact you with a link to apply to the inbound exchange program.

5.
Acceptance and preparation.

If your application to Brock meets the requirements and you are accepted into the program, our international learning team will connect you with the right resources to find housing, register for courses, obtain a visa, and more. 6.
Travel and settle in.

Once you are here, you will have the opportunity to attend the New International Student Welcome where you can meet other new international students and the Brock International staff, as well as learn about all the resources available to you on campus.

FAQ

What You Need to Know

Your home university will establish what is required when you fill out their application. Once you are nominated, you will just need to submit everything required through Brock’s application by the deadline, and meet English language requirements.

If English is not your first language, you will need to provide proof of your English language abilities.

  • Brock’s Intensive English Language Program (IELP) – successful completion of Level 5
  • IELTS – 6.5 or greater, with no band below 6.0
  • TOEFL – Score of 88 or greater (minimum 21 on speaking and writing)
    • iBT DAAD English Language Certificate – B2 minimum

Brock University reserves the right to request more information regarding English proficiency test score results.

Some of the estimated costs you should expect are:

  • Tuition fees (paid to your home institution)
  • Ancillary fees (paid to Brock)
  • Health insurance – $208 to $416 CAD
  • Regional bus pass – $247
  • Textbooks – $400 to $1,200 CAD depending on courses

Students first must apply to the exchange program of their home institution. If you are accepted, your university will nominate you to proceed with your application to Brock.
