For general inquiries or support related to gender and/or sexual violence, please email svsec@brocku.ca.

Office Location

The Office of Human Rights and Equity is located in MacKenzie Chown Complex – E Block. If you are looking for a particular Gender and Sexual Violence staff member, please see the list of individualized contact and office information below.

If you are seeking to receive student support through our Peer-to-Peer support services, we can be found in Thistle 128 A, near the Market and the Student Success Centre.

Katie Keays

Gender & Sexual Violence Intake Manager

As the Manager of Gender and Sexual Violence (GSV) Intake, Katie is a dedicated advocate for survivors, committed to anti-oppressive, decolonial practices, trauma-informed care, and survivor-centered support. She works directly with survivors at Brock, providing guidance and ensuring they understand their options, while also leading GSV programs and strategies for violence prevention and response. Her lived experience as a survivor and her academic background in Social Justice and Equity Studies enhance her leadership. Katie strives to foster a culture of consent, accountability, and empowerment.

Tassia Gabbidon

Intake & Support Counsellor

Tassia’s career is driven by her deep interest in the human condition and a strong commitment to creating meaningful change. Her journey began with a BA in Sociology and extensive volunteer work, which solidified her dedication to making a positive impact. She advanced her education with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and is now a registered psychotherapist. Tassia is passionate about social justice, focusing on combating oppression, decolonizing mental health services, and raising awareness in under-resourced communities.
