Brock University is committed to accessible education.
Reaching the highest level of equity, inclusion, and full participation for students while maintaining academic standards requires strong partnerships and communication between Student Accessibility Services, students, and instructors.
We welcome collaborative discussion with instructors through our OASIS instructor portal or by emailing [email protected]
Accommodations
Students registered with Student Accessibility Services have provided the required documentation to establish disability-related functional impacts and the need for accommodation in an educational setting.
Our professional staff reviews this documentation along with each student’s program of study and learning history to determine appropriate accommodations, creating an individualized accommodation plan.
The accommodation plan gets added to courses and is visible to instructors in the OASIS instructor portal. An accommodation list is available for reference
Instructors are encouraged to contact Student Accessibility Services with any questions or concerns regarding approved accommodations or essential course requirements.
OASIS Instructor portal
Once an accommodation plan has been added to a course, instructors can access the course in the OASIS instructor portal to:
- View and respond to accommodations;
- View a list of students registered with Student Accessibility Services;
- View contact information for Student Accessibility Case Managers;
- View a list of course instructors and delegates assigned to your course;
- View SAS-accommodated quizzes, tests, and exams;
- Securely upload scripts and enter exam parameters.
