Dave Ling
BNA Alumni Dave Ling took over our program as Head Coach of Brock Niagara Aquatics at 2023. Throughout his swimming career he represented Brock Niagara Aquatics, University of Toronto and Canadian National team in 2000 World open water championships. Dave has been coaching for the last 16 years all over the country and working with athletes in from learn to swim to international level athletes. Dave likes nice walks along the beach and an ice-cold coke zero.
Gokhan Bozyigit
Gokhan was a member of the Junior and Youth National teams in Turkey, travelling Europe to compete, before emigrating to Canada while in high school. He has been a long-time competitor for Brock Niagara Aquatics and the Brock Badgers varsity team; including being team captain, OUA medalist, Usports A-finalist and MVP. Gokhan was provincial champion in 2017-2018 and 2019 in both the pool and at the Ontario Open Water Championships. Now a certified coach, Gokhan has graduated from Brock and is currently completing his Masters degree in Kinesiology. In addition to his coaching role, Gokhan will take on the majority of administration tasks within the club for 2022-23.
Peter Bradstreet
Peter has been coaching in various roles at Brock University since 1983, including many years in the dual head coach role with both the club and varsity teams. Now retired from his full-time position, Peter will continue coaching on a part-time basis as needed. During his time at Brock, Peter coached athletes to a variety of International competitions, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Victoria Culp
Now teaching in Niagara, Victoria will continue coaching with both club and varsity athletes. An Education graduate from Brock University, Victoria took a two-year hiatus to teach Kindergarten in Antigua immediately after graduating, before returning to her Niagara roots. As a swimmer, Victoria was a national competitor, team record holder, MVP, and varsity captain with Brock Niagara and the Brock Badgers. She started coaching while with the varsity Badgers, gained new coaching experiences during her time on Antigua, and has been part of our staff again ever since.
Aaron Garnett
Aaron has swam competitively for 12 years with the Goulbourn Sea Hawks in Ottawa Ontario and continued swimming at Laurentian University for a year then made the transition to Brock University to continue his swimming career. During his time in Ottawa, he was fortunate enough to coach out junior development teams all the way up to our Master’s programs. He is a swim Instructor and supervisor at Brock University for 3 years.
Doug Yarnell
As a young Brock Niagara swimmer, Doug was named to the Canadian Junior team, and still today holds many team records. He went on to compete for and graduate from McMaster University. After completing Teachers College and coaching for Brock Niagara, Doug took on the role of head coach with Muskoka Aquatic Club while working as a teacher there for several years. He eventually returned to Niagara to be closer to family as his children grew, and to take over the family business. Doug has been a mainstay on our staff for many years now with our younger developing swimmers, and counts many of our current top athletes as his proteges.
Rachel Ironside
Rachel began her swimming career with the Halton Hills Blue Fins at the age of 8. Rachel swam competitively for 10 years and in so doing, developed an interest in coaching. Rachel obtained her coaching certification in 2018, and since that time Rachel gained hands-on coaching experience with the Halton Hills Blue Fins, Mississauga Aquatic Club and most recently the Brock Niagara Aquatic Club. Currently, Rachel is pursuing her BA / BEd at Brock University.
