The Master of Public Health (MPH) program offers students the opportunity to complete their online MPH degree with a specialization in Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC). The IPAC specialization nested within the MPH program will provide training for our students with the technical expertise in infection control and leadership to keep Canada’s public safe.
When designing the IPAC specialization, we worked very closely with IPAC Canada. In doing so, our courses have been purposefully developed and created so our MPH students will be able to challenge the national board exam with the intent to complete the Certification in Infection Control from the Certification Bord of Infection Control and Epidemiology Inc.
The MPH program also offers a Graduate Micro-Program (GMP) in Infection Prevention and Control. This GMP is comprised of three MPH courses designed to boost your specialized IPAC knowledge and skillset, accelerate your learning journey, and expand your career opportunities. These courses include:
- Microbiology in Infection Prevention and Control (MPHA 5P07)
- Foundations in Infection Control (MPHA 5P27)
- Healthcare Quality, Safety and Risk (MPHA 5P37)
Upon successful GMP completion, students earn a notation on their official Brock University transcript. While our GMP in IPAC can be completed as a stand-alone program, students who desire to complete our graduate degree can apply these three courses toward admission to our full MPH degree program. For more information on linking this GMP to a Master’s degree, learn about our Bridge to Masters Degree. Below is the program plan for MPH students completing the IPAC specialization.
