We offer both lifestyle and living learning communities (LLCs) for students.  Students in a Lifestyle Community request a substance-free or cannabis-free area to live.  A Living Learning Community (LLC) is the integration of students who share similar interests, such as an academic subject or non-academic area of interest, into a residence community with programming and support from various areas within the institution.

Important: When completing the residence application, a student should indicate their interest in a cannabis-free or substance-free area.  There is no additional cost to live in Lifestyle Community.  

Important: Living Learning Communities require an additional application.  When completing the residence application, students should indicate their interest in the Living Learning Community program by checking the box.  Once checked, the supplementary application will open within the residence application.  The deadline to apply to be part of our Living Learning Communities is the same as the residence application deadline which is June 3, 2024. We make every effort to accommodate both lifestyle and room style preferences for students. However, if you have a strong preference for something, please email reslife@brocku.ca . You may rank LLCs in order of preference on your application if you are interested in applying to more than one.

There is no additional cost to live in an LLC.

LLC Peer Mentoring 2024-2025

Each community has a dedicated upper-year peer mentor who will plan events and provide support to the participants to ensure a strong and exciting community is maintained all year. However, it’s truly the students who make these communities a success.
