This pilot program provides you with training from our experts through online modules, in-person labs and work integrated learning opportunities to implement, manage and analyze the production process to remove bottlenecks using Smart Factory technologies.

ModuleModule Description
1: Intro to IoTGet introduced to the Internet of Things (IoT) and how it is applied to Industry 4.0. Learn about Smart Digital Twin and the cloud. Learn about the IoT platform covering the types of sensors, gateways, cloud and analytics platforms that will be used in building a Smart Factory.
2: SensorsAn in depth look into the various sensors that will be installed into the Smart Factory. Learners will know all the various types of sensors that can be used in the Smart Factory, understand how they signal their data and learn how to properly calibrate them for accurate data collection.
3: GatewaysGateways connect your data to the cloud. Learners will connect the sensors to the gateway through use of various connectors and configurations to best suit the practical needs of your factory.
4: The CloudNavigate and understand The Cloud based software. Be introduced to the databases and begin collecting data. Learners will also be taught how to secure this data and protect their systems from external threats.
5: Data AnalyticsIn The Cloud, collect and process data from multiple points. Learn visual programming through Node Red. Set up rules, notifications and alerts. Learn the MTechHun IoT Tech Stack.
Work Integrated LearningTake your gained knowledge of these systems and begin implementing in the workplace. You’ll have an opportunity to participate in experiential learning workshops and further enhance your skills.

  • This program is open access. No educational prerequisites are required for trainees.
  • Resident of Ontario
