Niagara Employment Crawl 

When: Monday, November 3rd, 2014

Where: Niagara Region

Learn about career opportunities and discover why Niagara is your region to live, work and STAY!

The Niagara Employment Crawl (NEC) is your opportunity to take a guided tour of various businesses located throughout the Niagara region to learn about potential career opportunities, explore the geographic beauty and infrastructure in the region. 

The 2nd Annual Niagara Employment Crawl!  Travel by guided bus throughout Niagara to:

- Explore careers, industries and sectors within the region
- Learn about the geographic beauty, diversity and infrastructure that Niagara has to offer
- Network and engage with community leaders, young professionals, students, hiring managers and employers from the area

Two guided buses will "crawl" you through some of Niagara's coolest and biggest employers.  A continential breakfast available at the Pre-Event, and Lunch will be provided for this all-day event, as well as your transportation.

Our ultimate goal is to show you, the new upcoming young professionals, what the Niagara region has to offer after graduation and to expose you to cool careers and growing industries in Niagara!  Not to mention to highlight the beautiful geographic area of Niagara and all that Niagara has to offer outside of what you see on a day-to-day basis.  All of this for just $10!!!!

Smart casual dress and appropriate footwear is required for participation.

Graduate Education Expo

When: November 4th, 2014

Where: Brock University, Marketplace

Time: 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Brock University’s Graduate Education Expo provides students and new graduates with the opportunity to learn more about post-degree programs and professional educational opportunities.  You will be able to connect with educational recruiters from a wide range of post-degree programs and certificates, learn about their program offerings and with that knowledge, improve your chances of getting into the program of your choice. A Current List of Post-Graduate Schools & Professional Schools attending on November 4th

The Graduate Education Expo Guidebook publication will be available in the Career Resource Centre on Tuesday, October 28th for pick up.  The Guidebook has the listing of Post-Graduate & Professional Schools attending in addition to the floor plan for the day of the event.

 

Police & Uniform Recruiting Fair

When: January 20th, 2015

Where: Marketplace, Brock University

This event will give students the opportunity to meet face to face with a variety of Police Service Recruiters and representatives from the various police units. Last year the following police units attended:

  • Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P)
  • Niagara Regional Police Service
  • Hamilton Police Service
  • Peel Regional Police
  • Halton Regional Police Service
  • Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
  • ...and more!

Recruiters are looking to provide information to students and graduates and answer questions on recruitment related issues such as how to apply; examination procedures; required training; salary and benefits; and career opportunities within the different units such as Emergency Task Unit (SWAT), Major Crimes Unit, Canine Unit, Detective Office, and Underwater Search and Recovery.

 

Spring Into Summer Job Fair

When: February, 2015 (tentative date)

Where: Marketplace, Brock University
In the Market for a Job? The Spring Into Summer Job Fair will showcase employers hiring for full-time and summer job opportunities.   Although a few participating employers will ask you to apply online, others will be accepting resumes at the event.

 

Australian Teacher's College Fair

(Australian, New Zealand & Scotland schools only)

When: Winter 2015 (tentative date)

Where: TBD 

Want to know about Teacher's College in Australia and New Zealnd?  School representatives will be on hand for you to ask questions and find out about the application process.  Mike Johnston, from CANTEACH will be the presenter for the sessions.  Information Sessions sponsored by CANTEACH Inc.

Shop for Jobs Fair

When: September 16th, 2014

Where: Pen Centre

Time: 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Are you looking for a part-time job off-campus? Then this is the event for you. 

The Pen Centre is Niagara’s largest shopping mall featuring a wide range of retail and food services. It is only minutes from Brock University and a perfect location for part-time work. Find out what opportunities are out there for you by attending the Shop for Jobs Fair at the Pen Centre.

Details on Participtating Stores.  This event is in partnership with Career Services Brock University, MyCareer at Niagara College and The Pen Centre. Follow the event on twitter at #ShopforJobsFair14! Also, don't forget to fill out a ballot for your chance to win a $100 Gift Card from the Pen Centre.  Ballots will be available at the event once you swipe your student card at the Community Booth (near The Bay and the Greenearth store at the Pen Centre).

Career & Post Graduate Expo - Your Next Step
When: November 5, 2013, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Are you a new/recent graduate, or a student close to graduating and looking for a job?  Or, are you a first-year or second-year student who doesn’t know what you want to do after graduation? Come check out the eighth annual Career & Post Graduate Expo to learn about exciting opportunities waiting for you!

Career Services, Brock University will be hosting the eighth annual Career and Post-Graduate Expo on Tuesday, November 5th, from 11 a.m. until 3:00 p.m in the Ian D. Beddis Gymnasium, Walker Complex. There will be approximately 100 exhibitors representing post-graduate institutions, employers and non-profit organizations attending this trade-show style event.  Recruiters are eager to network and engage with Brock students, graduates and alumni. It’s a one stop shop for students, graduates and alumni to learn about full and part-time employment, post-graduate education, international opportunities, professional development and volunteer positions.

Details on organizations participating will be published in the Career Expo Guidebook closer to the event date and will be available in the Career Resource Centre.
