Joanne McKee was accepted into Brock University’s Co-op Accounting Program in 1982 and graduated with a Business Administration, with honours in 1986. McKee obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 1989 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. She then continued her graduate education at Niagara University in Lewiston, N.Y. In 1996, McKee graduated with her Masters of Business Administration and was the recipient of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Graduate Award. McKee’s professional career started with the Hamilton office of KPMG, Chartered Accountants where she first started in 1983 as a Brock University co-op student. In 1986 she was hired full-time as an audit senior after graduating from Brock University. While working at KPMG, she was promoted in 1990 to a Manager within the independent business advisory services department. In 1993, she accepted the position as Accounting Manager with Niagara College of Applied Arts & Technology and was then promoted to Director of Financial Services in 1996. In 2002, McKee came to Brock University in the position of Executive Director of Finance and Controller. McKee has also taken on part-time instructor positions both at Niagara College and with the Accounting and Finance Department at Brock University. McKee was born and raised in Beamsville and takes pride in having the opportunity to be educated and work in Niagara. She currently resides in St. Catharines with her husband and two boys who plan on being part of the 2022 and 2024 graduating classes of Brock University.
