French Studies provides a range of experiential, professional and theoretical approaches to engaging with French-speaking global cultures.
We offer courses in French language, translation and linguistics as well as courses on literature, music and film from French-speaking countries around the world.
Culture and civilization courses highlight the painting, architecture, music and historical events that appeared along with literary texts throughout the centuries in France and the Francophonie. We offer a variety of opportunities to study in a French-speaking milieu, including short-term spring and summer courses in Quebec and in France.
Courses are taught by top researchers, local authors and instructors from French-speaking communities around the world, offering a rich, diverse learning experience for our students. Our state-of-the-art Multimedia Language Learning Centre provides you with audiovisual, web-based and computer-based opportunities for language learning.
