Living Off Campus
Living off campus can look different for everyone. Whether you’re living with roommates or family, these tips can help you build positive relationships, take on responsibilities and feel connected to your community.
- Communicate with the people you live with. Talk about schedules, household responsibilities and expectations.
- Respect shared spaces. Keep common areas clean and be mindful of noise, guests and each other’s schedules.
- Stay safe. If you’re going out, plan a safe way home, stay with friends when possible and let someone know your plans.
- Take initiative at home. Build independence by doing your own laundry, preparing meals, cleaning up after yourself and contributing to household chores.
- Respect household expectations. Whether you’re living with roommates or family, be considerate of the people you live with and the expectations you share.
