What is community?
‘What is community?’ is a student video art exhibition presented by the Department of Visual Arts at Brock University’s Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine & Performing Arts (MIWSFPA). In partnership with Niagara Artists Centre (NAC), the screening of work from Video Art (2P97) students will be held in NAC’s Microcinema lounge, a gallery transformed into a screening lounge with vintage couches and free snacks for audiences.
Led by Visual Arts Associate Professor and artist Donna Szoke, the video artworks self-curated by students relate to community service learning through their research-creation in the course. Through this project, Brock students have learned about self-curation and self-promotion encapsulated through summative reflection. The screening is free; all are welcome at the accessible venue.
The screening runs from November 28 to December 13, 2025
Exhibition Reception: Thursday, Nov. 27 from 5-8 p.m.
