The Intern Group

The Intern Group provides internships across all career fields in Asia, Australia, Europe/UK, Latin America, and the USA. Programs range from 4 to 24 weeks. Realize your potential with an internship abroad.

Virtual Internships

The program has everything you need to boost your career, including:

These are flexible opportunities to fit your schedule.

Brock International Internship Program Requirements

  • Must be a Brock undergraduate student currently enrolled in classes
  • Must have completed a minimum of 10.0 Brock credits prior to the anticipated start date of the program
  • Must meet the host program requirements

All students who meet the application requirements will be interviewed by the international mobility committee.

Additional Brock International Application Requirements

  • Submit completed application by appropriate deadline
  • Statement of Purpose (1 page, double-spaced, statement of your personal, academic and professional reasons for wanting to participate in the Brock Internship program. Please include relevant work experience, relevant volunteer experience, reasons why you’re interested in the program, and why you would be a good fit with internship program)
  • $75 Program Fee (paid at time of Brock interview)

Ready to apply? The first step will be completing the Brock International Internship application.

Brock International Internship applications are due at least 6-weeks prior to the Intern Group program start date.

Successful applicants of Brock International Internship Program, will then complete the Intern Group application process.

Global Experiences - Virtual Internships

Global Experiences provides virtual internships across various career fields. 8- or 12-week internship programs are available.

Virtual Internships

Global Experiences offers add-on academic options, which may qualify for academic credit (possible 0.5-1.0 credits). Please contact intlmobility@brocku.ca for details.

Program Cost:

  • 8-weeks: Approx. $1,500 USD (subject to change)
  • 12-weeks: Approx. $1,800 USD (subject to change)

*Add-on credit option is available at an additional cost (approx. $600 USD (subject to change) for 3 or 6 credits (0.5 – 1.0 Brock credits)).

Arcadia Virtual Europe Internships

Arcadia Abroad is offering virtual European internships to Athens, Edinburgh, London, and Rome for Fall 2020! Programs run from September – December 2020.

Meiji Internships provides virtual internships across various career fields in Asia. 1- to 6-month virtual internship programs are available with rolling start dates.

University of Florida/Walt Disney World Resort Internship Program

Experience being a Cast Member though a six-month paid internship with Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Students will also take online courses through the University of Florida and can earn up to 2.5 Brock credits.

University of Reading Undergraduate Research - Summer 2020

Participate in an academic internship and pay the tuition to Brock!

With over 40 projects to choose from you’ll have the opportunity to undertake 6 weeks of UG level research alongside a respected professor and/or academic group at the University of Reading. You’ll gain hands-on experience within your chosen field, network with professionals and publicly present their findings at the end of it all.

Subject areas include: Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Business, Economics, Education, Geography & Environmental Science, Humanities, Law, Mathematics, Pharmacy and Psychology.

Cost: Brock Tuition (1.0 credit)
Academics: Possibility to transfer 1.0 credit to your degree
Scholarship: $250 Mobility Award

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply to the Brock International Mobility Office by February 6, 2020.
If selected, students will be nominated to the University of Reading and ask to complete an additional application by February 14.

Australian Catholic University

As part of the exchange programs, exchange students can apply to participate in an internship at a local company. This internship also includes academic credit, which is included in the exchange and has the possibility of being transferred back to Brock.

Students must apply for the Brock Exchange Program and be placed at Australian Catholic University in order to apply for the internship.

Hochschule Koblenz University of Applied Sciences – RheinAhrCampus

As part of the exchange program, exchange students can apply to participate in a paid internship with the Languages/International Affairs department at Hochschule Koblenz University of Applied Sciences – RheinAhrCampus. This internship also includes academic credit, which is included in the exchange and can be transferred back to Brock.

Students must apply for the Brock Exchange Program and be placed at Hochschule Koblenz University of Applied Sciences – RheinAhrCampus in order to apply for the internship.

Ontario/Rhône-Alpes Summer Research Program

The Ontario Rhône-Alpes Student Exchange Program offers students in science, engineering and health sciences the opportunity to spend 3 months in the summer at a university in Rhône-Alpes engaged in research projects relevant to their studies in Ontario. This program includes a paid stipend for any work completed.

Students must apply for the Brock International Summer Program/Short-Term Study Abroad Program prior to applying for this program. Students are responsible for connecting with a faculty member at one of the ORA partner schools prior to submitting their application

Yonsei University International Summer School/Research Internship

As part of the Yonsei University International Summer School program, students can apply to participate in a 6-week research internship, along with a Yonsei University International Summer School course. This program includes academic credit, which has the possibility of being transferred back to Brock.

This program includes academic credit, which has the possibility of being transferred back to Brock.

International Experience Canada (IEC)

A youth mobility program that provides Canadian and foreign participants , between 18-35, opportunities to develop a mutual understanding of other cultures through travel, life and work experiences abroad and in Canada. This cultural experience also enhances their personal and professional development, giving them a competitive edge in the job market. Today, Canada has Youth Mobility Agreements (YMAs) with 32 countries.

THREE CATEGORIES:

  1. Working Holiday
    Open work permit that allows youth to work for any employer, anywhere in the host country.
  2. International Co-op (students only – internships)
    Employer-specific work permit that allows students to gain targeted work experience related to program of study.
  3. Young Professionals (career development)
    Employer-specific work permit that allows youth to gain targeted experience related to profession or program of study.
